Metro Line 7 to take 1m passengers a year
SHANGHAI'S Metro Line 7, in the final phase of construction, is expected to carry about one million passengers a year after it is completed, second only to Lines 1 and 2, said Metro authorities today.
Trains will run every seven and half minutes and carry up to 2,500 passengers each, said officials.
Line 7 is among the three new Metro lines that will be put into use before the World Expo starts next May.
Shanghai Shentong Group, the local Metro operator, is testing new trains and building seven unfinished stations along the line.
The line will run through northern city's Baoshan District to Pudong New Area, with 28 stations open to passengers before the Expo, said the operator.
