Metro carries 7m passengers a day

Shanghai's Metro operator said today the city's network will top a record 7 million passengers a day shortly.
The operator said it will also add services to increase the capacity and to ease congestion on the 400 kilometers of track on 12 lines.
Air-conditioning systems on the trains will be subject to checks and maintenance work in the summer.
Shanghai's booming Metro network now carries more than 6 million riders a day, hitting a peak last Friday with 6.72 million passengers.
