Metro operator upgrades smart phone apps

SHANGHAI Metro operator today issued its upgraded applications for Android smart phones and iPhones.
Shanghai Shentong Metro Group said its new apps are intended to let more subway riders enjoy faster Metro information.
Shentong said it teamed up with an Internet technology company to upgrade previous apps to make them more user-friendly.
The Metro operator said more than 80,000 people have downloaded the iPhone app since it was released at the end of last year.
An English-language map has been added to the new app, the operator said, adding that it is considering adding an English search function to the application soon.
