Metro ticket-dodging common

A video clip showing 19 passengers evading Metro fares by leaping over or ducking under exit turnstiles in less than two minutes has drawn sharp criticism on the Internet. The video shot at Longyang Road Station on Metro Line 2 during an afternoon rush hour showed how rampant ticket-dodging is in the city's subways.
Shanghai Metro management estimated that 2 to 3 percent of passengers dodged ticket machines every day. In 2011 alone, the Metro system lost some 10 million yuan.
