Metro to issue 3-day passes for short-term visitors
SHANGHAI Metro will start selling three-day passes from Thursday March 1, subway officials said this morning.
The new 45-yuan pass allows the holder to travel unlimited times by all the 11 Metro lines within 72 hours, said Shanghai Shentong Metro Group, the subway operator.
Shentong said the issue of the three-day passes mainly targets short-term visitors who are in Shanghai for business or leisure.
The new passes will be sold at all 200-plus Metro stations, Shentong said.
Currently, an 18-yuan one-day pass is available for visitors who can keep the plastic card after use as a souvenir.
The Metro operator also said that live TV program will be broadcasted on screens at Metro stations starting next month to inform commuters of traffic condition during rush hours.
