Metro trains delayed as man jumps into track
TRAINS on Metro Line 1 were forced to travel at limited speeds around 1:30pm after a man jumped into the track at Jinjiang Park Station in Xuhui District, the Metro operator said on its official microblog on Weibo.
The unidentified man was pulled out of the track by Metro workers and the subway operation resumed at 1:45pm. But it is not immediately known whether the man is alive or not.
The Shanghai Metro microblog said the man was lying between the track and the undercarriage of a train around 1:30pm. Some witnesses posted on Weibo, saying the man wanted to commit suicide.
One witness, known as "Perfect Fairy" on Weibo, said the man had died at the scene.
