Middle Ring Road opens in Pudong

THE Middle Ring Road in Pudong New Area will open to traffic tomorrow, and an elevated road connecting it with the Yingbing Expressway to Pudong International Airport will open at the same time.
This will cut trips from Shangzhong Road Tunnel to Pudong International Airport to under half an hour, Shanghai Morning Post reported today.
Traffic police invited experienced taxi drivers to check the road signs yesterday. They suggested setting up more 80-kmh speed-limit signs.
Shangzhong Road Tunnel leads to the new Middle Ring Road in Pudong with the eastern section running along Shenjiang Road.
At the end of November, the Inner Ring Road in Pudong opened to traffic, giving Shanghai three ring roads and 17 expressways.
