More car plates for auction
SHANGHAI will offer an extra 800 car plates at this month's auction - the fourth consecutive monthly rise and the biggest so far this year - in a bid to boost the city's automobile market.
A total of 8,000 private plates will go under the hammer on June 20, compared with 7,200 in May, 6,500 in April and 6,000 in March, according to the auction organizer, Shanghai International Commodity Auction Co. The Shanghai government has planned to issue 35 percent more car license plates this year - or a total of 114,075 plates.
