More heat expected later this week
THE weather will be relatively comfortable today and tomorrow although the intense heat will make a comeback later this week.
The high temperature will remain 32 to 33 degrees Celsius both days although there is the possibility of rain or a thunderstorm, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said yesterday.
The mercury will rise 4 to 5 degrees on Wednesday and the maximum temperature will hit 38 degrees this week, the bureau said.
The lows will range between 28 and 30 degrees, forecasters said.
"The extreme high this week will likely be on Thursday," said Fu Yi, a forecaster with the bureau. "After that the mercury will dip slightly."
On Friday the high will be 37 degrees.
Last week, the temperature peaked at a blistering 39.6 degrees.
