Museum plans big assortment of digital displays
DIGITAL and interactive displays will be a big part of the relocated Shanghai Museum of Natural History, which opens in the second quarter of next year at Jing’an Sculpture Park.
A total of 300 digital pictures designed for tablets and smartphones, 104 interactive media products like games and 200 micro-movies will ensure museum visitors have an enjoyable time.
With 10 regular exhibition spaces, a discovery center for students and five cinemas, the museum will focus on modern displays to explain the process of evolution and the relationships between the planet’s species.
The museum has developed over 20 teaching materials for children from kindergarten through middle school. Students can even do experiments and dig up fossils in the discovery center. Thirty students from Jing’an District No.1 Primary School visited the museum today.
Museum officials said feedback from teachers and students would help them improve displays and exhibits before the grand opening.
