Nip in the air amid topsy-turvy weather
SHANGHAI temperatures are forecast to plunge tomorrow and on Thursday due to the expansion of a cold front from the north, weathermen said.
The sky should turn overcast to cloudy tomorrow and the mercury should range between a low of 7 degrees Celsius and a high of 15 degrees, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
Under the influence of the strong cold front, the readings should keep going south on Thursday, when it will be mostly cloudy, with the low hitting 6 degrees in the morning.
"The minimum temperature in downtown could drop to 4 or 5 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning and even lower in the suburbs," said Kong Chunyan, a chief service officer of the bureau.
More rain is forecast for Friday and the weekend while the mercury should rise on Friday before plunging again on Saturday with the arrival of another cold front.
