No relief from scorchers until Saturday
SHANGHAI will swelter in a heat wave until Saturday with a high temperature of 36 to 37 degrees Celsius and a low of 28 degrees, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.
Scattered thunderstorms hit the city this afternoon but after that cloudy skies will be seen in the city for three to four days.
Today the maximum temperature reached 37.8 degrees, the bureau said.
"People should take note that the scorching weather will last for some time," said Zhang Ruiyi, a forecaster with the bureau. "People with heart disease and high blood pressure should reduce outdoor activities."
