Part of new expressway set to open

THE first phase of a new expressway in downtown Jing’an District will be completed by next March, a senior district official said yesterday.

The section along Wanrong and Sanquan roads of the expressway would be the first to open, said Lu Xiaodong, the governor of Jing’an.

“The traffic conditions around the area will vastly improve after the first phase is completed,” Lu told a radio station yesterday.

The North-South Passage project will broaden the lanes and build tunnels along the Pushan, Wanrong and Sanquan roads.

The expressway, which will stretch 5.5 kilometers, will start from the intersection of Pushan Road and Zhongshan Road N., and will end at the junction of Sanquan Road and Changzhong Road, as per the blueprint of the project of the district government.
