Police beef up security at Shanghai Disneyland for crowd control
LOCAL police said on Sunday that they’re prepared to meet security challenges posed by the huge crowd at Shanghai Disneyland during the Spring Festival holiday.
Police forces at the resort have already been beefed up during the opening and closing hours, while a squad of assistant police officers are patrolling with them at and around the main entrance to help control the crowd.
If there are too many visitors, police will use railings to separate tourists from the metro station in the east and those from the parking lot in the west to prevent the crowds from clashing into each other.
Police said they have also advised the resort to play the evening fireworks earlier ahead of the closing time so as to reduce the security risks during closing hours.
Meanwhile, Pudong traffic police have stepped up inspection of tourist buses at the Kangqiao tollgate on S2 Expressway which is next to the resort, looking out for traffic offenses and reminding passengers to wear seatbelts.
