Pudong airport records highest passenger number

PUDONG International Airport reported a record high of more than 100,000 passengers yesterday, the Pudong Entry-Exit Frontier Inspection Station said. According to officials, the record high number of travelers can be attributed to the increase in family overseas trips during the summer vacation.
Officials at the inspection station also reported a daily average increase of more than 70 flights and said the daily average number of passengers is up 15,000 compared to 2010. However, they also anticipated more flight delays over the summer because of the more frequent chance of weather disruptions caused by typhoons and thunderstorms.
