Rain remains into weekend
THE intermittently rainy and overcast weather should last for another three days with the mercury remaining stable before the next plunge expected this weekend.
Warm and wet air currents from the southwest mean rainy weather should last from today to Saturday and the city's temperature should remain in the moderate range, according to the Shanghai Observatory.
The drizzle is forecast to become moderate rain today, with a low of 5 degrees Celsius and a high of 10.
Tomorrow should be drizzly to overcast with a low of 7 and a high of 10.
Temperatures should start to plunge on Saturday afternoon.
"Shanghai should experience some ups and downs and it is suggested residents watch the weather to alter their clothing choices to stay warm," said Zhu Jiehua, a chief service officer of the observatory.
The mercury is expected to drop below zero again on Sunday, with a low of minus 1 degree Celsius and a high of around 3 degrees.
