Restrictions for tourism festival

TRAFFIC will be restricted in parts of downtown from Thursday to Saturday for the float parade at the Shanghai Tourism Festival, the public security bureau said yesterday.

Vehicles won’t be allowed on Huaihai Road M. — between Xizang Road S. and Chongqing Road S. — from 9:30pm Friday to 2am on Saturday.

The section of Huaihai Road M. between Huangpi Road S. and Shaanxi Road S. will be off limits from 6:30pm to 10:30pm on Saturday, while restrictions will be in place in the section between Huangpi Road S. and Xizang Road S. from 5pm to 9:30pm.

Longmen Road, connecting Huaihai Road M. and Jinling Road M., will be off limits from Wednesday midnight to 5am on Sunday.

Liulin, Pu’an, Taoyuan and Wangting roads, connecting with Huaihai Road M., will also be closed from 5pm to 9:30pm on Saturday.

Traffic may be blocked on Jinling Road M. and Changle Road on Saturday depending on the situation.

And the elevated highway exit on Huaihai Road will be closed from 7:30pm to 9:30pm on Saturday.

Public buses will make detours during restricted periods.

Meanwhile, as part of the festival, the 16th Shanghai International Music Fireworks Festival will be held on September 30, October 3 and October 6 at Century Park in the Pudong New Area, said officials.
