Road strategy has connecting point
BY the end of next year, eight new-look roads are expected to be completed that link Pudong New Area and Nanhui.
The move is in response to the rapid growth of Pudong New Area.
The eight roads are Chuannanfeng Road, Lingkong Road-Nanzhu Road, Huadong Road-Nanliu Road, Jinxiu Road-Kangwu Road, Shenjiang Road-Shenjiang Road S., Jinke Road S.-Hengxin Road, Chuansha Road-Xile Road and Wenju Road-Zhouzhu Road.
Some of these roads ended on the boundary of the two districts and weren't connected, while others were too narrow in Nanhui, said Lu Ye, an official with the Pudong Urban and Rural Construction and Transport Commission.
After Nanhui was included in Pudong, the new area government decided to connect the zone via these roads.
"The connection will not only bring a better traffic flow, but also help the Nanhui area achieve faster economic development," Lu said.
