Rush-hour glitch on Metro Line 8
TRAVELLERS on Metro Line 8 suffered about 45 minutes' delay during the morning rush today, after five trains were added to the network to help ease overcrowding.
An electricity problem at 7:45am affected the line between Aerospace Museum Station and Yaohua Road Station, the subway operator said.
The problem was fixed at 8:09am but full services did not resume until 8:30am.
Angry commuters complained about the long intervals between trains and frequent breakdowns on the line, the last being a signal glitch last Thursday.
With five new seven-carriage trains, 31 now run along the line. More trains are promised but no timetable has been given.
