Shanghai Also Feels Nip In The Air
SHANGHAI weather authorities issued two alerts yesterday, the earliest strong cold and wind warnings for the city in 10 years.
The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau issued a blue alert, the lowest of the three levels of cold alarms, yesterday morning, warning the temperature may drop by more than eight degrees Celsius in 48 hours.
The mercury was expected to reach as low as four degrees Celsius in some parts of the city early tomorrow morning, the bureau said, and the maximum today and tomorrow would be only 12 and 15 degrees.
The cold front also brought strong winds to the city. A blue wind alert, the lowest of the three-level system, was also issued by the bureau yesterday.
