Shanghai braces for more heat in coming days
SHOWERS and strong winds brought by a tropical storm will cool the city today but intense heat will come back tomorrow and last for the rest of the week.
The high temperature will stay at 33 degrees Celsius and the low at 27 degrees, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said today.
The maximum temperature will climb to 36 degrees tomorrow and hit 38 degrees on Thursday, said the bureau.
On a different note, a meteor shower will happen at 7:30am on Friday, peaking at a rate of 100 shooting stars in a hour. People can watch the shower with naked eyes under clear weather condition, said Tang Haiming, an official with the Sheshan Astronomical Observatory today.
