Smoother, Swifter Going At Zhangjiang
PASSENGERS left the newly built Zhangjiang High-Tech Park Station of Line 2 faster during morning rush yesterday after 11 more turnstiles were added overnight to the original 18.
"All machines ran in good shape," said the subway operator, Shanghai Shentong Group. "The situation got better."
The Zhangjiang station made its underground debut on Wednesday, converted from being an above-ground station, but suffered serious congestion after several turnstiles broke down under huge passenger turnout.
Helping matters, some companies in the high-tech park dispatched their shuttle buses to two new Metro stops, Jinke Road and Guanglan Road, instead of all clustering at Zhangjiang.
