Spring has sprung, but it’s going to stay wet

SPRING officially arrived last Friday, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said yesterday.
The season is said to have started on the first of a run of at least five days on which the mean daily temperature surpasses 10 degrees Celsius.
A few seasonal showers are expected during the remainder of this week, but the weekend will be dry and clear, forecasters said.
The top temperature recorded at the Xujiahui weather station yesterday was 23.1 degrees, the highest this year.
Today is expected to start dry, but there is likely to be more rain, and possibly some thunder, this afternoon. Tomorrow and Friday will see some drizzle.
The high will be 24 degrees today and drop to the mid-teens tomorrow. The high will be 18 degrees on Friday and remain the same at the weekend. The low will be 15 degrees today, and between 8 and 11 degrees from tomorrow through Sunday.
“It’s not uncommon to see the temperature rise into the mid-twenties in mid-March,” Wu Rui, a chief service officer at the weather bureau said.
