Subway collision injures at least 10, halts Metro Line 10
AT least 10 passengers were injured when two Metro trains collided in downtown Shanghai this afternoon.
The rear-end collision happened around 2:40pm on Metro Line 10 between Laoximen Station and Yuyuan Garden Station.
Policemen rushed the injured to the hospital and evacuated other passengers from the tunnel.
Operation between the Yili Road Station and Sichuanbeilu Station was suspended immediately and has not been restored yet.
Prior to the accident, Metro Line 10 trains were ordered to run at low speed between Jiao Tong University Station and Nanjing Road E Station due to a signal breakdown.
