Summer has officially arrived
SUMMER is officially here, according to the local weather bureau, which said it began last Friday after five consecutive days of temperatures of at least 22 degrees Celsius.
The mercury is expected to continue its upward trend today with a high of 33 degrees. However, thundershowers will hit this afternoon after a weak cold front from the north moves into the city.
The rain will taper off to drizzle tomorrow morning and dry conditions will return in the afternoon. The high will drop to 26 degrees.
Sunny skies are expected on Friday with a high of 31 degrees, but the rain, possibly accompanied by thunder, will resume on the weekend.
The spring this year, which started on February 9 and concluded on June 9, spanning a total of 122 days, was the longest in the city’s recorded weather history from 1873, the bureau said.
