Suzhou Creek tours to offer culture
THREE new tours by boat along Suzhou Creek will include trips to museums and cultural attractions after opening in September.
The longest tour will run between the Waibaidu Bridge on the Bund and Beixinjing in Changning District and will cruise for three hours, Oriental Morning Post reported.
Tourists will be able to stop off at the Match Box Museum, the Coinage Museum, the Silk Museum and the Irrigation Works Museum of Yuan Dynastry (1271-1368).
An industrial relics park, a yacht exhibition hall and the Suzhou Creek Museum have also been established in renovated workshops and warehouses along the way.
Two sightseeing boats capable of carrying between 40 and 50 people are expected to begin operating the tours in June in a trial period. Tourist authorities have designed three specific routes for the creek.
