Temperatures below zero in early mornings

FREEZING overnight temperatures are expected to continue over the next few days, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said today.

Chongming County island saw a lowest temperature of minus 4 degrees Celsius this morning.

Districts including Songjiang, Qingpu, Baoshan, Fengxian, Jinshan, Minhang and Pudong reported a low between minus 2 and 3.

Shanghai will see another four or five dry days under the influence of a high pressure front, said the bureau.

It is set to be overcast over the weekend and while the high will reach 11 degrees tomorrow, this will fall to 4 degrees on Sunday.

With the return of sunny weather next week, the high will climb back to 7 degrees on Monday and reach 12 degrees on Tuesday.
