Temperatures to drop further
BRACE for another cold front this week with the temperatures dropping to single digits with strong northerly winds bringing smog with it, forecasters said.
The weekend rain belt over the city will keep moving south, bringing back clear skies today but the possibility of few drizzles in the morning remains.
The cloudy weather will remain for at least four days.
But with a cold front on the way, a series of winter chill is expected to push the mercury below 10 degrees Celsius, starting Wednesday. Thursday the low in downtown areas will drop to zero and the outskirts will be even colder.
The mercury today and tomorrow will fluctuate between 6 to 10 degrees. On Wednesday, the high will plunge to 6 degrees and the low will drop to 3. The chilly but dry weather will continue into Thursday with a low of 0 and a high of 8. On Friday, it will be a bit warmer with the temperature ranging between 3 to 9 degrees.
A smog triggered by the pollutants from northern China is expected to hit the city today and tomorrow.
