Trains break down on three Metro lines in rush hours
Three Metro lines suffered breakdowns in the rush hours this morning.
The breakdowns were mainly caused by mechanic problems with the trains, said Yin Wei from the Metro authority office.
He confirmed there were 15-minute delays on Line 1, Line 4, and Line 9 between 7am and 9am today, according to Eastday.com.
More than 200 people were stranded at Songjiang College Town station on Line 9 this morning, according to Xinmin.com today.
The breakdowns also stretched to People' Square station on Line 1 and Nanpu Bridge station on Line 4.
These stations had to turn passengers away as the failed train had to be towed out of tunnels.
The exact reasons for the trains' problem were still under investigation, according to Yin.
