Two perish in midnight highway crash

A cabbie and passenger were killed in the wee hours today when the car lost control and crashed on a highway in suburban Fengxian District, Xinmin.com reported.
The speeding car slammed into the guardrail of Pingzhuang Highway around 1:30am and crumbled up, trapping the cabbie and the passenger. It took fire fighters about 10 minutes to pull them out.
But they were pronounced dead later at the hospital, the report said. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
