Vehicle plate quota announced

THIS month's quota for vehicle license plates has been set at 5,200, the same as last month's, the Shanghai International Commodity Auction Co Ltd announced.
The auction will take place on February 21.
Among the 5,200 plates, 14 are for motorcycles and 134 are reserved for businesses changing motorcycle plates to car plates.
The average price for a car plate in January dropped 2,266 yuan (US$331) to 29,399 yuan from a month earlier. The lowest successful bid dived to 28,600 yuan.
There were 16,544 bidders last month, a drop of 257 from the the previous month.
