Warm and wet to cold and wet
THE mercury is set to drop in the city from this weekend, following a warm if wet week, the weather authority said yesterday.
Maximum temperatures will fall from yesterday's 25 degrees Celsius to 23 degrees from today, and dipping below 20 degrees next week, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
More rain is forecast over the next five days.
"The warmth is set to end with the approach of cold fronts from the north, " Zhang Ruiyi, chief service officer at the bureau, said yesterday.
Zhang said the city would also be windier next week.
Today is forecast to be overcast with showers and a low of 20 degrees. Tomorrow should also be wet with a low of 17 degrees and a high of 21 degrees.
Fog brought problems to the city's airports and roads yesterday and is likely to recur in the coming days.
