Warm weekend, chilly Monday
ANOTHER cold snap is expected next Monday, with the maximum temperature dipping to 10 degrees Celsius after a warm weekend.
Today the city basked in 20 degrees after residents experienced the coldest March night in 22 years yesterday, reported Shanghai Morning Post today.
However, a cold front from northern China will bring temperatures down to a minimum of five degrees next Monday, said Chen Min from the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
The city had a rare spring snowfall coupled with sunlight the day before yesterday, causing surprise among residents.
A storm blew from 8pm to 9pm last night bringing the coldest night for 22 years, dipping to minus 2.1 degrees. Icy roads caused an 18-car crash on the Inner Ring Road in Yangpu District.
