Warmer spell for days ahead
MILD weather is forecast for most of the remainder of the working week, with higher temperatures than recent days, forecasters said yesterday.
However, showers are expected by late Saturday, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
There was an autumn chill in the air yesterday morning, with the benchmark Xujiahui weather station reporting temperatures of 11.2 degrees Celsius — its lowest this fall.
Some districts saw their lows drop to single digits, with 7.3 degrees recorded in Chongming County.
High temperatures were down 2 degrees to 17 degrees.
Under the influence of a high pressure front, skies were clear for much of yesterday and this is set to continue today.
However, it will become more overcast tomorrow and Thursday.
The bureau predicts another chilly morning today, with the low forecast to remain at 11 degrees downtown, and down to 5 degrees in suburban areas.
Today’s high temperature is expected to be around 18 degrees.
The mercury will rise tomorrow and Thursday with a high of 21 degrees and the low fluctuating between 14 and 16 degrees.
Friday and Saturday will be a bit colder with the high dipping by 2 degrees.
