Warmer weather forecast for days ahead

THE city is set to have several days of good weather from today, with the mercury climbing to above 10 degrees Celsius, forecasters said yesterday.

It should be sunny with some cloud today under the influence of high atmospheric pressure and temperatures will range from 2 to 11 degrees, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.

Yesterday’s highest temperature was just under 8 degrees and 1.4 degrees the lowest, as recorded by the benchmark Xujiahui weather station.

This morning, the city’s air should be lightly to moderately polluted, with the air quality index ranging between 140 and 160. Tiny PM2.5 particles will be the top pollutant, the Shanghai Environmental Monitoring Center said.

In the afternoon, the situation will improve with the AQI falling to between 115 and 135.

The weekend will be cloudy. Tomorrow the temperature will be between 3 and 12 degrees, while on Sunday it will be a degree higher.

It should also be cloudy on Monday, with temperatures of between 5 and 10 degrees.

Tuesday is predicted to be cloudy and slightly warmer.
