New extension on Line 12 to open this month

THE western section of Metro Line 12 will be put into service this month, mainly conveniencing people in Minhang and Xuhui districts who need to travel to city downtown.
The new extension to Line 12 including stations at downtown Nanjing Road W Station, Shaanxi Road S Station and Hanzhong Road Station, runs through the city's downtown areas and would help divert traffic from Line 1 and 9 during peak hours, the Metro operator estimated.
Metro Line 12 would be the subway service featuring the most connection stations with other lines in Shanghai. It would share stations with Metro Line 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13.
