Wet, cool holiday ahead for Mid-Autumn Festival as typhoon brings showers

RESIDENTS may have a rainy Mid-Autumn Festival under the influence of the approaching typhoon Meranti, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.

Developed in the northwest Pacific Ocean on Saturday afternoon, Meranti is keeping moving westwards and approaching eastern China regions.

It’s expected to land Taiwan around Wednesday, and to Fujian and Guangdong provinces on Thursday.

Early this week, the skies will be overcast, and the temperature will range from 23 to 29 degrees Celsius.

From Thursday, when the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday kicks off, showers may hit the city. And the three-day festival holidays are forecasted to remain wet and cool.
