Woman dies in platform plunge

A WOMAN was killed after falling on to the track at a Metro Line 6 station yesterday morning, causing rush hour delays.
The incident happened at about 6:50am at Line 6's Hangjin Road station, in the Pudong New Area. The woman, in her 30s, fell on to the track as a train was approaching the platform, said the city Metro operator. She was killed instantly, said the operator. Rush hour services to downtown areas were affected as trains had to operate at reduced speed for a time.
