Woman falls onto Metro line track
METRO Line 3 operations were affected for a portion of the morning rush hour yesterday after a woman fell onto the tracks while inside a station.
The woman, about 60 years old, was sent to a hospital for treatment, said the local subway operator. The reason for the woman falling was under investigation, authorities said.
The incident happened about 8:50am at Line 3's Zhanghuabang Station, where Metro officials said "a woman was found entering the track."
Passengers said the train on which they were riding made a sudden brake when moving toward the station. The operator said it stopped service for a while at the station and prolonged the service time along the line.
After the woman was carried out by Metro staff, train service gradually resumed shortly after 9am.
