Wrap up warm, take an umbrella
COLD and wet is the forecast for the rest of this week. A strong cold front from the north arrived in the city yesterday, bringing gusty winds and lowering temperatures, about 4 degrees Celsius to around 13 degrees, forecasters said.
Winds would start to get weaker from this morning, but the mercury would continue to plunge, said Shanghai Metrological Bureau. Temperatures will range from 7 to 10 degrees today.
Tomorrow, America’s Thanksgiving Day, temperatures could fall as low as 5 degrees downtown and 2 degrees in the suburbs.
Under the Chinese lunar calendar, yesterday marked xiaoxue, or light snow, meaning the weather will steadily get colder.
