Zhangjiang Metro station to close for 10 days
ZHANGJIANG High-Technology Park Station at the eastern end of Metro Line 2 will be closed for 10 days during the Spring Festival to move the platform underground, paving the way for a new extension before May.
Shuttle buses will run between Longyang Road Station and Zhangjiang station from February 14 to 23, Shanghai Morning Post reported today.
Netizens plan to hold ceremonies, including taking the last train on February 13, to mark the close of the 10-year-old station, the only overpass station along the line.
Metro Line 2 runs from Songhong Road in the west to Zhangjiang High-Tech Park in the east, but will be extended from Pudong International Airport to Hongqiao Airport by Shanghai World Expo on May 1.
The extended line will be 64 kilometers long with 30 stations.
