A MAN faces 10 days in administrative detention for beating a senior citizen who objected to his smoking in a Metro station, according to xinmin.cn. The old man, surnamed Xiang, saw the commuter smoking at Caoyang Road Station on Line 3 last Wednesday and tried to stop him. Instead he was beaten up, causing concussions. Though the smoker later repented, he was detained and will spend the Chinese New Year’s Eve away from his family.
