12 injured as Metro escalator reverses direction

TWELVE passengers were injured during rush hour this morning as an escalator at Jing'an Temple Station suddenly reversed direction, Shanghai Morning Post reported.
The escalator was going up at around 8:20am when it suddenly started going down, causing some people to fall down, the report said, citing a witness.
The injured commuters were sent to Jing'an District Central Hospital although the report did not detail the extent of the injuries.
Jing'an Temple Station is a transfer point between lines 2 and 7.
