14 pools fail water test

FOURTEEN swimming pools out of 478 checked by the Shanghai Health Supervision Agency this summer have failed to meet the nation’s water quality standard, while 17 were found to have poor management and defects in hygiene facilities, said officials. They received punishments and are required to undertake renovation work. Facilities with swimming pools that failed quality tests included Physical Fitness and Beauty’s branch on Xizang Road M., Star Gym’s Dongfang Road branch and Shanghai Marriot Hotel City Centre.
