175 more pig bodies retrieved from river

ANOTHER 175 dead pigs were fished from the Huangpu River in Shanghai yesterday, bringing the total to 10,570, city spokesman Xu Wei said.
The removal work in the main stream of the river has been mostly completed and the number of carcasses is declining significantly. Water authorities said they have closely monitored water quality and began checking indicators for biological contamination every four hours. The government ensures tap water is safe.
