2 dead as car rams into cyclists

TWO people were killed and two others injured in a traffic accident in Minhang District yesterday.
A car rammed into three cyclists and a pedestrian about 8:50am on Fanghe Road.
Two elderly women died on the spot while a young man and woman were rushed to the hospital.
The car struck a truck and crashed into a green belt. Police had to break open the car window and help out the driver.
A woman’s shoe and a dusty cap were still lying on the road. There were oil stains as well.
The driver, surnamed Wu, has been detained by the police. After a preliminary investigation, police said they did not find Wu driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
