2 detained over McDonald’s burglary

AN employee of the McDonald’s at the Sun Moon Light Center and his friend have been detained in connection with an alleged burglary at the restaurant, police said yesterday.
About 48,000 yuan (US$7,200) went missing from the franchise’s safe at the end of July.
The man, a 27-year-old from Guangdong Province surnamed Lin, confessed that he told his friend, a 26-year-old from Hubei Province surnamed Zhang, how to get into the restaurant undetected and where to find the key to the safe.
Zhang allegedly entered through an unlocked door, took the key to the safe from a drawer and grabbed the money. However, she was filmed by a surveillance camera.
