2 diners held for attack on senior

TWO men have been held by police in connection with an assault on an elderly man in a restaurant on Saturday night, after he had complained about a noisy child.
The 66-year-old victim, surnamed Feng, required hospital treatment after suffering a cut lip and being left with three loose teeth in the attack.
Feng said he was having a meal with friends in a restaurant in the Global Harbor shopping mall in Putuo District about 8pm, when they were disturbed by a two-year-old girl screaming at the next table.
When he could stand the noise no longer, Feng said he remonstrated with the child’s family, saying her behavior was unacceptable in a public place.
Two young men at the table took exception and struck the older man with cups and plates.
Feng’s friends and other diners intervened and police were called.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, said officers.
