2 found dead in taxi

A MAN and a woman were found dead in a taxi in the Pudong New Area on Saturday morning. Members of the public noticed that the taxi had been parked at the crossing of Renmin Road and Jinghai Road since Friday morning and called police on Saturday.
Officers found a man and a woman sitting in the back seat of the unlocked vehicle. They were confirmed dead at the scene. Investigators found that the engine of the car had flamed out after the ignition key had been turned, and that an obstruction at the rear of the car had blocked the exhaust pipe. Police said the two people may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, excluding the possibility of homicide. Investigations into the incident are continuing.
