2 held for stealing antiques worth 2m yuan
LOCAL police have detained a man and his girlfriend for stealing antiques worth about 2 million yuan from his former employer.
On May 29, an antique company reported to the police that 31 items worth about 2 million yuan were stolen, eastday.com reported.
From surveillance videos police found that one of the suspects surnamed Liu entering the underground parking lot of the commercial building, where the company is located, at 3am on May 28.
After watching the footages and studying the evidence left on the site, the police confirmed that the burglar was none other than Liu, who had quit the company recently.
Liu left Shanghai for Wuxi but police managed to catch up with him. He was detained along with his girlfriend surnamed Pu from Liu’s residence.
Police said Pu helped Liu hide the stolen goods.
All the stolen items have been recovered and returned to the company.
The case is under further investigation.
